Agglomeration, social capital and interorganizational ambidexterity in tourist districts

چکیده
Knowledge is a basic factor of competitiveness with firm’s exploration and exploitation capabilities acting as the main antecedents innovation. However, firm has two options to obtain new knowledge: internal generation external acquisition. This paper analyzes how tourism firms located in tourist districts develop ambidexterity through combination co-exploration co-exploitation. Specifically, we study features that characterize district, such level institutional agglomeration, affect development co-exploitation capabilities, taking into account mediation effect social capital. The population under includes all Spanish hotels coastal towns, making total sample 210 establishments. results confirm agglomeration positive impact on hotels. Moreover, show causes an increase capital hotels, ambidexterity. We find partially mediates Some implications for managers policymakers are presented.
